TAKE A RISK TUESDAY: Tell someone you appreciate them

Today I took a risk, but perhaps not in the traditional sense. I told my mother I appreciated her. Showing your appreciation for someone can be a powerful act that strengthens a relationship, but it’s not always the most comfortable thing to do. I’ve always have had a hard time telling my family how I feel but with recent news that sentiment has been put into different perspective.

As you read this, my mother is on her way to the hospital. Today she is having surgery because of a tumor they discovered in her ovary. And because of the seriousness of the surgery, I couldn’t go another day without letting her or other people in my life know how I feel.

This past month has been a wake-up call. In an effort to quit delaying my dreams and find my passion, I plan to take a risk every Tuesday (even if it’s a small one) and have now dubbed it ‘Take A Risk Tuesday.’ Every week I will post the risk that I took and also post next weeks risk. I encourage you to join me in my effort and take a risk today, because often times you’ll be happy with the outcome.
